A 19-year-old man from John Dulam Street, Aranguez, has been charged with the murder of tradesman, Selwyn Joseph. Shaquille Mungroo was charged on May 29th after advice was received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr Roger Gaspard.
According to police reports, on May 23rd, the accused, along with others, allegedly argued with Mr Joseph. An altercation ensued, and the victim was stabbed in the back. He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex but died as a result of his injury. Mr Mungroo was arrested later that day by WPC Job, of the Barataria Police Station, and PC Baksh of the North Eastern Division Emergency Response Patrol. He is due to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate today.
