2 sentenced to six months hard labour for marijuana trafficking

Ronnie Huggins and Wayne Huyghue appeared before a Point Fortin Magistrate and were charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. Both men were sentenced to six months’ hard labour. Details follow in this press release from the TTPS:

Two men appeared before Magistrate Alicia Chankar at the Point Fortin Magistrates’ Court today charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

RONNIE HUGGINS, 30, and WAYNE HUYGHUE, 32, both of Point Fortin, were sentenced to six months’ hard labour each.

According to police reports, around 8 pm on November 10th, officers received intelligence which led them to stop and search a vehicle along the Cap de Ville Road, Point Fortin. The officers allegedly discovered three packets of marijuana weighing 1.6 kilograms.

The two male occupants of the vehicle were arrested and subsequently charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking by PC Loubou.

The exercise was supervised by Snr Supt Neil Brandon John, ASP Mathura, Insp Marcelle, Sgt Crawford, Cpls Phillip and Seecharan, and PC Loubou. It also included members of the South Western Division Task Force (SWDTF).
