3 teens among 25 arrested at house party in Marabella

Twenty-five partygoers, three of whom are teenagers, are expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate on Tuesday, charged with breaching the Public Health Regulations.

Twenty-five partygoers, three of whom are teenagers, are expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate on Tuesday, charged with breaching the Public Health Regulations.

The group were arrested last night after residents along Ninth Street, Gopaul Lands, Marabella, alerted police about a party in the area.

According to official police reports, at 11:30 pm, a team of officers headed by Insp Ramlogan, Sgt Maharaj and Cpl Singh of the Marabella Police Station, swooped down on the residence where they discovered 25 people playing music, smoking, dancing, and consuming alcohol.

The persons were detained and taken to Marabella Police Station for processing.

The group were subsequently charged.  Police say they range in ages from 13 to 42 years and came from neighbouring areas and communities as far as Diego Martin and La Horquetta. The teenagers, ages 13, 14 and 16 years, were released into the care of their parents to be charged by summons.
