A 30-year-old man is expected to appear before a Tunapuna Magistrate on January 18th to answer to the charge of possession of a firearm and ammunition. Officers of the Northern Division, Area West, conducted an anti-crime exercise searching known drug blocks and patrolling the Maracas St. Joseph and Tunapuna areas.
According to police reports, while driving along Savary Street, St Joseph officers observed a man acting suspiciously. The man, upon seeing the police, began running. The officers gave chase and captured him. The officers searched him, and allegedly found in his possession, one Glock pistol and 12 rounds of ammunition. The 30-year-old man was immediately arrested. PC Williams is continuing Investigations.
