386 newly infected with COVID-19 as 10 more lose their lives

The latest update from the Ministry of Health is reporting that these latest deaths have pushed up the national death toll to 1,668 lives lost, while the country now has some 4,733 active cases of COVID-19, as a result of the 386 new positive cases, based on samples taken between October 24th and 27th.

Some 386 people have become newly infected with COVID-19, even as another 10 people have lost their lives to the disease.

The latest update from the Ministry of Health is reporting that these latest deaths have pushed up the national death toll to 1,668 lives lost, while the country now has some 4,733 active cases of COVID-19, as a result of the 386 new positive cases, based on samples taken between October 24th and 27th.

Also in its update for today, Thursday 28 October 2021, the Ministry notes that some 595,072 people in the country are fully vaccinated, having completed either a one-dose or two-dose regime.

And some 621,013 people have received their first doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, as of today, Monday, the Ministry’s update reports.

The Ministry reminds the public that a person is considered to be fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the final recommended vaccine dose(s) of a World Health Organisation (WHO) approved vaccine or vaccine combination.

The Health Ministry also notes in its update:

● 342 persons are still hospitalised for COVID-19; up from 332 patients on Wednesday.

● 3,975 persons are in home self-isolation; down from 4,116 patients on Wednesday.

● 70 persons are in State quarantine facilities; down from 87 patients on Wednesday.

● 30 patients are still recovering in step/down facilities; down from 35 patients on Wednesday.

The health ministry also reports that 93.7% of the current parallel healthcare system are not fully vaccinated—some 4,493 from a total of 4,794—based on data from July 22nd to October 13th, 2021.
