Eastern Division Police continue to make arrests as they seized a quantity of marijuana.

On Wednesday police officers from the Toco Police Station conducted a roving road check in the Toco district during the hours of 11:00 am and 3:00 pm under the supervision of Ag Cpl Bhagan arrested two suspects and seized 750 grammes of marijuana.

And officers also reported around 1:45 pm, in the vicinity of San Souci Bay along the Paria Main Road, they stopped a vehicle which was proceeding along the roadway.

The vehicle was searched and a quantity of marijuana found wrapped in blue and transparent plastic.

The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, a 26-year-old man of Grande Riviere, Matelot was arrested and taken to the Toco Police Station, where in his presence the marijuana was weighed and amounted to 500 grammes.

Meanwhile, officers also conducted a search on another vehicle along the Toco Main Road and found two plastic bags, one black and the other white, each containing marijuana.

The 42-year-old driver from Blanchisseuse was arrested and taken to the Toco Police Station, where the marijuana was weighed and amounted to 250 grammes.

All suspects were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
