4 more COVID-19 deaths, 246 new positive cases

Four more people have lost their lives to COVID-19, while another 246 people have tested positive for the disease, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Health.

Four more people have lost their lives to COVID-19, while another 246 people have tested positive for the disease, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Health.

In its update for today, Friday 24 September 2021, the Ministry notes that these latest deaths have pushed up the national death toll to 1,441 lives lost.

In addition, the 246 new positive cases, based on samples taken between September 20th and 23rd, mean that there are now 4,270 active cases of COVID-19 in the country, at this time.

Currently, some 475,896 people in the country are fully vaccinated, whether under a two-dose regime or a single dose regime.

And some 565,940 people have received their first doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, as of today, Friday, the Ministry’s update reports.

The Ministry reminds the public that a person is considered to be fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the final recommended vaccine dose(s) of a World Health Organisation (WHO) approved vaccine or vaccine combination.

The Health Ministry also notes in its update:

● 293 persons are still hospitalised for COVID-19; up from 288 patients on Thursday.

● 3,663 persons are in home self-isolation; up from 3,523 patients on Thursday.

● 114 persons are in State quarantine facilities; down from 117 patients on Thursday.

● 68 patients are still recovering in step/down facilities; up from 67 patients on Thursday.
