During an Operation Strike Back Exercise conducted by the North Eastern Division Gang Intelligence Unit, six men were arrested for firearm and drug-related offences in the San Juan and Morvant area. Details follow in this press release from the TTPS:

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) continues to make every effort to make our communities safe, as six persons were arrested overnight in the North Eastern Division (NED), for firearm and drug related offences.

The six men were detained during an Operation Strike Back Exercise conducted by the NED Gang Intelligence Unit in the San Juan and Morvant areas. The exercise, conducted between 10 pm on March 9th, 2022, and 2:30 am on March 10th, 2022, saw several search warrants being executed leading to the arrests.

Four men, ages 28-46, from the San Juan and Malick districts were held for possession of firearm and ammunition, while a 39-year-old man of 10th Street Malick, was detained on shooting enquiries. A 36-year-old was also arrested for cultivating marijuana.

The exercise was spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Winston Maharaj, Supt. (Ag.) Ramjohn with ASP Pariman and coordinated by Insp. Bharath. It was supervised by Sgt. (Ag.) Mitchell and Cpls (Ag.) Gordon and Dhill and included members of the NED Gang Intelligence Unit, NED Task Force and included officers of the Canine Unit.
