During a road traffic exercise conducted in the Cova District, officers of the Couva Police Station issued sixty-five tickets for various offences. Details follow in this press release by the TTPS:
Officers of the Couva Police Station issued sixty-five traffic tickets for various traffic related violations during a road traffic exercise conducted in the Couva district yesterday, Wednesday 6th October 2021.
The exercise was conducted between the hours of 1pm and 7 pm. The violations are as follows:
1. Failure to comply with traffic sign authorised by the Transport
Commissioner – 39
2. Drive on Footpath – 9
3. Drive No Seatbelt – 5
4. Unnecessary Obstruction – 4
5. Drive with front-seat passenger not wearing seatbelt 3
6. Driving with no valid Certificate of Insurance – 2
7. Improperly overtaking on the right – 1
8. Unauthorized Lights to front of vehicle – 1
9. Playing a noisy instrument in a vehicle – 1
The exercise was spearheaded by Snr. Supt Simon and supervised by AG/ASP Raghoo, W/Sgt Baijoo, W/Sgt Graham, Cpl. Gopaul and PC Balkissoon.
