$90,000 bail for man charged

A 39-year-old cricket pitch attendant employed with the Tobago House of Assembly appeared virtually before a Scarborough Magistrate on Wednesday, charged with two counts of sexual touching of a child.

Richard Murray, of Flag Staff, Charlotteville, appeared before Magistrate Duane Murray to answer charges of sexual touching of a 15-year-old girl who resides in the eastern part of the island.

He was placed on $90,000 bail and is scheduled to reappear in court on June 23, 2020.

The enquiries were headed by ag W/Supt George, ASP Nowbutt and supervised by Insp. Andrews and Sgt Miller of the Tobago Child Protection Unit.

Officers of the Child Protection Unit continue to urge parents and guardians to be vigilant during the COVID-19 lockdown period where children are at home and more susceptible to predators

“Parents and guardians can never be too careful about safety. Do not leave children unattended or in the care of questionable adults,” a statement from the unit said. (CTF)
