The number of people currently identified with COVID-19 at present has crossed 500.
The figure jumped up to 534 with the announcement of 36 new cases this afternoon.
The total count for T&T now stands at 686.

As of the afternoon of Wednesday, 19th August, 2020 the Ministry reports the following:

|Number of samples which have tested positive at public and private facilities in Trinidad and Tobago||686|
|Total number of active cases||534|
|Number of deaths||12|
|Number of persons discharged||140|
The Ministry of Health provides the following update:
· Thirty-six (36) additional persons have tested positive for COVID -19.
o Thirty-three (33) persons tested positive – Trinidad
o Three (3) persons tested positive – Tobago
All established protocols have been implemented.
