An acting Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) is currently under investigation following a complaint of domestic violence against him.

The complaint was made to officers of the Morvant Police Station Saturday night by the wife of the officer who is attached to the Northern Division.

According to the police report, the woman told police that around 9.45 pm Saturday, she and her husband had a verbal argument which escalated, during which she was struck several times about her face and body by her husband.

She was taken the Mount Hope hospital where she was examined and issued a medical certificate.

Police say the woman was then escorted to her home to retrieve personal items and was informed by police not to return to the home without the escort of police officers.

Acting Supt Montrichard is investigating.
