All students in Forms 4 to 6 will be required to attend classes in person from Monday, October 25, regardless of vaccination status.

Education Minister Dr Nyan Gadbsy-Dolly said they have realised that many students are not vaccinated and after looking at the situation over the last couple of weeks, they believe that students’ education is being jeopardised.

She said schools are well arranged to have students spread out across the schools.

She said they listened to the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teacher’s Association on this matter.

She said the general outcry from stakeholders was the request for all students to turn out to school.

In addition, she announced that schools will not be required to provide online learning for students in those forms.

She said special focus will be placed on School-Based-Assessments and added as a fourth measure, that students with special needs and support staff will also be required to attend schools physically.

Forms 1-3 will continue to access learning remotely online.

The last measure is that principals will be able to request from the Ministry of Education, permission to have students visit classes for orientation measures.

This is a developing story and we will have more on this later.
