It’s a benefit concert like no other.

It is the One Caribbean, One Future, One Yard virtual benefit concert.

An event hosted by the ANSA McAL group of companies that will be produced by Ultimate Events Limited.

It’s a concert aimed at assisting students in the Caribbean region who are affected by COVID- 19 and now must learn in a virtual setting due to the Pandemic.

Ansa Mcal has committed $1.5 Million dollars to this initiative which is carded for October 30 from 8 pm.

The virtual concert will be seen live on CNC3 television and other digital platforms across the Caribbean region.

“It is one Caribbean, this year has not been an ordinary year for us in the Caribbean and our group understands the challenges being faced by all sectors of society during this uncertain times there is no doubt in my mind though when we reflect during this turbulent time as a people, look back with pride and say that we did it together”, ANSA McAL’s Chief Executive Officer, Anthony N Sabga III said.

He added, “Education is a key a component that brings growth and progress to any society… the more people in society educated the more they can provide contributions to themselves, each other, your communities and the environment.”

The benefit concert will accept donations and commitments begore and after the concert and the deadline for contributions will be November 14.

Already the ANSA McAL group through its foundation donated 200 devices to 25 schools in Trinidad and Tobago. It will also focus on bringing connectivity infrastructure across the Caribbean region.

Sabga III at the launch of the benefit concert at ANSA McAL’S head office in Port-of-Spain, said,” this is an important Corporate Social Responsibility educational component that will be highlighted in the one yard event and that is to give access to remote (learning) for every child in the Caribbean as such. And in partnership with the ANSA McAL we have created a special one Caribbean future fund where donations made prior to and on the night and post the event will be used solely in the governance framework of the foundation towards home base learning.

The ANSA CEO said patrons can look out for a star made up of regional superstars who will not disappoint.

The press launch of the benefit concert and fund was streamed live throughout the Caribbean with regional Government Ministers and dignitaries among the viewers.

Commending ANSA McAL for supporting the Adopt- a- School technology initiative to assist many students with no devices to access online learning platforms, Education Minister, Dr Nyan Gadsby – Dolly praised the objective of the concert.

She said it comes at a time when the ministry is focused on executing its digital curriculum.

The minister also commended ANSA McAL and the rest of the private sector for helping so many students during this uncertain period.

“Over 45 partners – through the Adopt-a-School programme 13,000 devices to our students and these devices has started coming in because we had a bit of shortage globally. But they have started coming in and therefore our students are reaping the benefits and we want to thank the generosity and investment of the private sector into their lives and we do applaud that and we thank you ANSA McAL for making that pledge and we do look forward to the concert yielding excellent results so not just Trinidad and Tobago but the region can have the benefit of this investment and certainly we look forward to it being so successful that our pledge in Trinidad and Tobago might be increased”, the Education Minister said.

The Ansa Mcal Group is calling on all stakeholders and the corporate world of the region and anyone wanting to join this initiative to come onboard.

Those willing to donate can do so via text message in their country and at the One Yard Caribbean website.

Some of the entertainers named so far are Trinidad and Tobago’s Freetown Collective and Grenada’s Lil Natty and Thunda.

ANSA McAL said more star entertainers will be released weekly up until the date for the concert.
