She is just six-years-old but Aria Alessandra Mohammed is already a YouTube star and has developed quite a following with her instructional videos.

The aspiring chef, who lives with her parents Jinelle Lalgee and Kameal Mohammed in Chase Village, Chaguanas, enjoys preparing tasty, nutritious meals with her parents and has been doing cooking videos since she was three.

“Some of the things I’ve made in the YouTube videos are cookies, chillers, cupcakes, egg, but I also like to do science experiments like elephant toothpaste.

“I don’t know how I got into it, but all I know was when I was three years old I pretended to have a cooking show and it was fun. Afterwards, I asked my mum to have my own YouTube and she said no, but then she said yes.”

Aria also enjoys looking at cooking shows with her mother. Among her favourites is Trini Cooking with Natasha. She also likes riding her bike, painting, browsing on her iPad, dancing and making videos.

She is a Second Year pupil at Gandhi Memorial APS Vedic School where her favourite subject is phonics and is longing to see her school friends and teachers in-person, after such a long time with online classes.

While she is currently making a name for herself as a chef on social media, Aria said she wants to be a doctor and dancer when she grows up. Her favourite food is McDonald’s and her favourite desserts are cupcakes and cookies. Aria’s parents said they like to encourage her in her pursuits. They said she has always been very inquisitive and enjoys trying new things.

Although COVID-19 had limited many outdoor activities, she found other ways to entertain herself and does not get bored too easily. They said they will continue to support and guide, and hope she continues to grow with love and kindness.
