Clement Boodramsingh, a 32-year-old man of Cocorite Road, Arima was fined $9000 for possession of marijuana or in default; he will have to serve 30 days’ hard labour.
He appeared virtually before Magistrate Debby-Ann Bassaw at the Arima Magistrates’ Court today.

According to police reports, he was arrested during an anti-crime exercise which was conducted by officers of the Area East Operations Unit, members of the Canine Unit and the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard (TTAG).

On April 22nd, between the hours of 4 pm and 8 pm, officers executed a search warrant at the home of the suspect. While there, officers found a quantity of marijuana weighing 640 grammes. The man was then arrested and taken to the La Horquetta Police Station where he was subsequently charged. The exercise was coordinated by Supt Edwards, ASP Coggins and Insp Pitt and supervised by Sgt Caldon and Cpl Durity.
