An Arima man, who was recently detained by police for questioning in connection with a murder, was gunned down on Sunday.
His body was found near an abandoned structure.
According to police, around 4:10 pm, Ian Jason Fuentes, 47, of La Retreat Road, was liming in the yard outside his house with two men when a white wagon pulled up and an armed occupant exited and opened fire.
The gunman then returned to the vehicle, which sped off.
Fuentes was later found dead a few metres away near an old abandoned structure.
A team of officers visited the scene, processed it and recovered five spent 9 mm shells.
Police believe the killing was gang-related.
