Arouca gunshot victim succumbs to injuries

Exactly two weeks after he and his friend were both shot, Richard Guevara succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning at hospital.

According to a police report, at about 8.45 pm on June 30th, Guevara and his friend, Kevon “Archie” Archibald, were liming at a house located along First Street, Cane Farm in Arouca, when relatives heard several gunshots. They quickly called the police.

Police officers arrived within minutes and found both men lying on the ground of a carport area. They both bore multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said Archibald died on the scene, and Guevara was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Guevara succumbed to his injuries at about 5.45 am on Monday 13 July 2020.

Police are yet to determine a motive for the shooting incident; however, they have given assurances that the investigation is active.
