Flash flooding yesterday hit residents of parts of Arouca for a ninth time for 2020.
The situation developed after an isolated thunderstorm developed across north-central Trinidad shortly after sunset, producing lightning, gusty winds and torrential rainfall.
Flash flooding was reported at Henry Street and Five Rivers in Arouca.
Flooding also occurred along the Priority Bus Route and Eastern Main Road between Arima and Arouca, causing traffic jams and delays as motorist sought alternative routes to get to their destinations.
The Lopinot Road in Arouca was temporarily impassible to smaller vehicles due to high flood waters.
