Anjali DeGannes, 19 and Judah Taitt, 58, was denied bail for kidnapping 9-month-old Sophia Rivas on September 15th.

They appeared virtually before Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan at the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court today charged with kidnapping for ransom. Police prosecutor PC Jaggernauth objected to bail and the accused were both remanded in custody to October 21st.

Both accused were jointly charged on September 21st.

Warrants were issued for Jdan Taitt, 24, the third suspect charged in the matter. The warrants will be executed at the Golden Grove State Prison. Anjali De Gannes was unrepresented, while Judah Taitt was represented by Ms Nera Narine. Investigations are continuing
