Bailiffs have seized all of the equipment from the Wendy’s Chaguanas outlet because of outstanding rent owed.

And next week Tuesday, all of that equipment will be publicly auctioned off.

The Wendy’s restaurant in question was located at the Corner of la Clave Street and the Montrose Main Road in Chaguanas.

When Guardian Media visited the location yesterday it was closed and the signage previously used to identify it as a Wendy’s outlet was removed.

“Take notice that upon the instructions of William Soon Licensed Bailiff for and on behalf of Priority Holdings Limited ( Landlord) I the undersigned, will offer for sale by public auction on the date and at the place mentioned above the following items levied upon for arrears of rent owing by Desk Restaurant Limited trading as ‘Wendy’s’ (Tenant),” a notice published in the press stated yesterday.

And many other items too numerous to mention,” it stated.

The terms of sale are:

• Payments for purchases must be made by cash or certified cheque

• Goods will be sold subject to auctioneer’s handling charges of ten per cent

• Goods must be removed immediately after sale upon payment of bids and charges in full

All COVID-19 protocols must be observed.

The auction will be held on September 28 at 10 am.

In 2010 former Prestige Holdings chief executive Dane Darbasie was named as the local franchise holder for Wendy’s, which signed a long-term restaurant development agreement that will gave the US fast-food company significant presence throughout the Eastern Caribbean.

The agreement called for the development of 24 Wendy’s restaurants over the next ten years in T&T and eight other markets.

The first Wendy’s restaurant in T&T was opened in 2011 in Trinidad on Ariapita Avenue.
