Bandits struck at an ATM machine during the power outage on Wednesday night in Chaguanas.

According to a police report, at about 7.15 am a Republic Bank manager received a call from the G4S security firm informing him that the Republic Bank ATM located at the AVM Plaza in Montrose was broken into.

The manager arrived at the said location at about 7:45 am and saw that the front entrance to the ATM was open.

Further checks revealed that the ceiling tile above the teller machine was removed which gave access to the ATM’s vault room, where there was an unsuccessful attempt to remove the said vault.
