Chaguanas West MP Dinesh Rambally has reported that armed men attempted to enter his Munroe Road offices on Tuesday night, but were thwarted in their attempts.

MP Rambally says that around 8:10 pm on Tuesday 15 December 2020, he and five staff members were working late when one of his employees spotted two masked men with guns.

MP Rambally told Guardian Media the men attempted to enter the building, but the doors were locked.  He said the gunmen also tried to open a parked Kia K2700 van that was in the car park awaiting one of his employees. However, the driver of the van was inside the vehicle and when he observed what was taking place, he sped off.

The Chaguanas West MP said he took off all the lights in the building and called the police, who arrived within 10 minutes.  The police officers reportedly searched the area before letting him and his staff leave the building.

MP Rambally said on Wednesday, police were on the scene gathering video footage from neighbours.  He also said he would be getting security, as well as installing cameras on the compound.
