Buried deep in this twin-island paradise are pockets of hell. Men held on remand at the Port of Spain prison, Golden Grove and Tobago are facing conditions that have been described as deplorable and inhumane.
You’d be shocked to know some spend more than a decade in cells with poor ventilation, without lights, insufficient bed space and no toilets.
But even more frustrating they say is the long wait for justice, in part of behind prison walls, we hear from the inmates and what’s affecting them the most.
