Anton Beckles, 34, is expected to appear before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate today charged with the murder of Michael Sheldon John. Beckles aka, ‘TON, ’ 34, of Upper St. Francois Valley Road, Belmont, was charged with murder by WPC Massy of Region One, Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) following advice received by Director of Public Prosecution Roger Gaspard on July 22nd. Beckles was arrested on July 18th.
A second suspect who was also held in connection with the case was ordered to be released, as advised by the DPP. John, 47, was found shot to death at his home on July 17th 2020 after an alleged argument with a neighbour. Beckles is expected to appear before the Port-of-Spain 8th Magistrate Court.
