Last weekend’s tragedy has brought back memories of a horrific industrial accident that took place back in 1985 where 14 people lost their lives. Back then a government appointed team was set up to investigate the explosion at Trintoc’s harbour in Pointe-a-Pierre, but even though there were extensive breaches to safety protocols, no one was ever charged. Our team of Radhica de Silva, Rishi Ragoonath and Ivan Toolsie re-examine this tragedy.
