Body found in Mt Lambert

The decomposing body of a man was found in a shed in a forested area in Mt Lambert on Sunday. According to a police report, upon information received police officers from the San Juan Police Station went to a vacant plot of land opposite AMC Group of Companies and after walking some distance off the road into the forested area they came across a shed in the trees.

While searching the officers found a partially decomposed body of a male of African descent approximately 55 years of age in the shed dressed in a red jersey and black pants. Police said the deceased was known only by the alias “Buju” originally from St Joseph.

Police said “Buju” was last seen alive approximately one month ago.
The body was viewed by a District Medical Officer who made his pronouncement and ordered the body’s removal to the Forensic Science Centre for an autopsy pending positive identification by his birth name.
Investigations are continuing.
