A driver was robbed while driving his car and slowing down to avoid flood waters along the Eastern Main Road on Monday. A 15-year-old boy was subsequently arrested by patrolling police officers.

According to a police reports, at about 1.30 pm the victim was driving his black Nissan Tiida along the Eastern Main Road, near the Tamarind tree by Success Laventille Secondary School when while slowing down to avoid flood water a male suspect of African descent reached in his car and grabbed his Samsung Galaxy cell phone and ran away.

As the victim got out of the car to confront the suspect two other male suspects got in his car while the door was still open and drove off. 

The victim managed to flag down a passing Inter Agency Task Force patrol who intercepted the vehicle near the Success Laventille Secondary School causing it to crash.

The teenager from John John was arrested while the others ran away. Port of Spain CID officers responded on the scene.The boy is said to be in police custody assisting police with their investigations.
