Boy, 6, injured in accident

A six-year-old boy suffered a brain contusion and injuries to his left leg after he was allegedly hit by a car at Cantaro Village, Upper Santa Cruz, on Monday.

Police said the incident occurred at about 10.20 am. A black Nissan Xtrail PCE 577 was heading in a southerly direction along Mc Carthy Extension when two boys ran out from a track into the roadway. One of the boys, six-year-old Jaedon Ford, came into contact with the right front side of the vehicle.

The driver assisted the little boy who was taken to the Santa Cruz Health Centre and then to the Eric Williams Medical Science’s Complex by his parents. He was medically examined and then warded for further observation.
