As the world prepares for further climate emergencies, T&T is poised to make an increased effort to mitigate its own impact on climate change and emissions.

The current Adverse Weather Alert/YELLOW Level has been extended to 4:00 pm on Thursday 28 October 2021, with cloudy but mostly settled conditions expected to continue as the afternoon progresses. That’s according to the latest advisory from the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS).

Trinidad and Tobago, including offshore areas of both islands, currently are under an Adverse Weather Alert/YELLOW Level, which will remain in effect for much of today.

An advisory issued by the Met Service this afternoon indicates that the alert status for Trinidad and Tobago has been downgraded to GREEN Level.

Persons who are sensitive to changes in air quality are being advised to take the necessary precautions today, as there is a significant concentration of Saharan dust present in the atmosphere.
