The Ministry of Health is seeking to assure the public that its CDAP initiative—the Chronic Disease Assistance Programme—has not been shut down or stopped.
In a statement issued today in response to a Letter to the Editor asking that CDAP not be stopped, the Ministry states clearly that the initiative is still very much active.
“Members of the public are assured that they can continue to receive their medication to address chronic non-communicable diseases (e.g. diabetes and hypertension) via this programme,” the Ministry assures.
It adds: “The Honourable Terrence Deyalsingh, Minister of Health did NOT announce that the CDAP initiative would be stopped.”
