In keeping with Cedar Grove Private School’s trend of activities, the school’s administration hosted its students to a Carnival fun day with some traditional Carnival celebrations of its own.

Last Christmas, school principal Shaheed Allaham said it was the school’s mantra to have all children at the school exposed to all facets of T&T’s customs and in the end to have all round citizens.

On Carnival Friday, the pupils of the Palmiste, San Fernando school participated in a calypso competition, as well as mas and Moko Jumbie presentations.

The annual calypso competition and the parade of classes programme, aptly themed Flora and Fauna, attracted full support by the accompanying parents.

The finalists in the calypso category performed some of their own renditions much to the delight of the adoring parents, teachers and peers.

Notably creative were the compositions of Upper KG student Charlize Ragoonath—Colours of Carnival—Grade 1 student Denae Headley’s We Doh Want No Virus and returning champ Grade One’s Zaedn Arjoon, performing Don’t Destroy My T&T.

In the senior category Grade 4’s Julian Ramkisson rendered Cedar Grove and retained the title.

The pupils were much hyped following the competition and thoroughly enjoyed guest appearance by chutney soca entertainer Ravi B who performed the 2020 songs Headshot and Omalay.
