The following is a press release from CEPEP:

The CEPEP Company Limited continues to fulfil its mandate for environmental protection as a massive clean-up exercise was conducted at Dhein’s Bay Chaguaramas over the past week and culminated today. Two (2) CEPEP contractors and sixty (60) dedicated workers converged to execute this exercise within the North Western Region.

Dhein’s Bay is a well-known site utilized by the Spiritual Shouter Baptist community for the conduct of prayer exercises as well as baptisms. Like many other beaches, this site was the victim of unscrupulous persons who dump garbage illegally and have therefore desecrated a once pristine beach. Through the efforts of the CEPEP Company Limited, our contractors and their workers, this beach has been revitalized.

While surveying the work completed thus far, Chairman of CEPEP Company Limited Ms. Marilyn Michael remarked, “The members of the Baptist community will be especially happy to see this area restored. This area is of value to that community in particular and the residents in this area have always co-existed with the Baptist community in using this facility.

We hope that as persons utilize the beach, they appreciate the immense work that has gone into completing this project. At CEPEP, we fulfil our community enhancement mandate through special projects such as this one. It was also very satisfying to witness the amount of camaraderie displayed by all the workers as they conducted their work and thanked the Diego Martin Regional Corporation for their assistance during the exercise. We remain committed to partnering with all Municipal Corporations to revitalize sites such as Dhein’s Bay.”

The CEPEP Company Limited conducted extensive ground maintenance works, tree trimming and also installed benches for use by patrons of Dhein’s Bay.
