A Chaguanas businessman was killed in an accident on Monday afternoon in Toco.
According to a police report, at 1.50 pm Ag Cpl Ali and other officers responded to an accident report in the vicinity of Lp #12 Penzance, Balandra. On arrival, the officers observed a white Kia Sorrento facing west across the northbound lane with extensive damage to the entire front.
The officers also observed debris along the roadway and a man of east Indian descent clad in a red jersey, long blue jeans slumped in the driver’s seat. Police said he was pinned beneath the vehicle’s steering wheel and appeared motionless.
The driver was later identified as Ravesh Jhinkoo of 13 Sunset Drive Green-Vale Park, Soogrim Street, Chaguanas.
Jhinkoo was a businessman and operated a ceiling installation company together with his wife, Stacy. He was pronounced dead on the scene by the District Medical Officer.
