Senior Chaguanas Magistrate Adrian Darmanie fined thirty-year-old Kern Duncan $2000 or, in default, serve 30 days hard labour for possession of marijuana.

Duncan was charged after being arrested during an anti-crime exercise conducted by members of the Chaguanas Criminal Investigation Department (CID), CID Operations Unit and the Central Division Task Force (CDTF) area north.

According to police reports, on July 30th, between the hours of 4 am, and 7 am, officers executed a search warrant at the suspect’s home. While there, officers found a quantity of marijuana weighing 170 grammes. The man was then arrested and taken to the Chaguanas Police Station where he was subsequently charged.

The exercise was spearheaded by Snr Supt Curt Simon and Supt Pierre, and supervised by Ag Sgt Nelson.
