Several senior citizens in the Chaguanas area received special attention from the Chaguanas Borough Corporation (CBC), yesterday, Saturday 30 May 2020, as part of the Borough’s observance of Indian Arrival Day 2020.

The Borough paid tribute to elderly persons in the community by gifting them with hampers, sweets and seedlings.

Mayor of Chaguanas, Vandana Mohit, along with Councillors visited several elderly persons at their homes to present them with the special gifts.

Mayor Mohit said it was imperative that everyone, regardless of their heritage, always remember the role of our ancestors in nation building.

“Our forefathers played a pivotal role in shaping and developing society at a time when mankind’s technological development was limited and not as complex as today,” she said. “Despite how many changes society is going through, it is always important that we continue to recognize their contributions.”
