Scores of vic­tims of do­mes­tic vi­o­lence and oth­er forms of abuse have vis­it­ed the Ch­agua­nas Bor­ough Cor­po­ra­tion seek­ing as­sis­tance.

This was re­vealed by may­or Van­dana Mo­hit yes­ter­day as she toured the bor­ough.

She gave ros­es and car­na­tions to women work­ing with the bor­ough’s road gangs.

Mo­hit said the vic­tims were ref­ered to the rel­e­vant au­thor­i­ties. She al­so gave the as­sur­ance that the bor­ough’s out­reach cen­tre for vic­tims of abuse would be opened in the near fu­ture.

The work­ers who re­ceibed the flow­ers laud­ed the ges­ture not­ing that it was nev­er done in the past.

Mo­hit said it was her way of say­ing thanks to the many women who work on the gangs dai­ly clean­ing the streets in the var­i­ous com­mu­ni­ties.
