Chatham Water Treatment Plant to undergo maintenance next Tuesday

The Chatham Water Treatment Plant is scheduled to undergo planned maintenance next Tuesday (February 23rd, 2021), which would mean a disruption in the pipe-borne water supply for much of South West Trinidad.

The Chatham Water Treatment Plant is scheduled to undergo planned maintenance next Tuesday (February 23rd, 2021), which would mean a disruption in the pipe-borne water supply for much of South West Trinidad.

According to an advisory from the Water and Sewerage Authority, the supply disruption would be from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Areas that will be affected include:

Quarry Village, Rancho Quemado, Bennet Village, Santa Flora, Palo Seco, St. Francis Village, Erin, Sheila Lamorell Gardens, Los Bajos, Waddle Village, Chatham, Point Coco, Unity Road, Augustusville, Coromandel Road, Southern Main Road from Cap De Ville Junction to Point Coco Extension Junction.

WASA advises that while the facility is off-line, a limited truck-borne water service will be available upon request.

Customers also are reminded that it may take up to 24 hours for the scheduled pipe borne water supply to normalize to some affected areas, following the resumption of operations at the Plant.
