The Chinese Community in Trinidad and Tobago has donated hand sanitizers to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) in the fight against COVID-19.
The brief hand-over ceremony took place at the Chinese Embassy #76 Long Circular Road, Maraval, on Friday 17th April, 2020.
His Excellency, Song Yumin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Trinidad and Tobago, and Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, were present at the handover.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, His Excellency Yumin, said he was glad to host the brief ceremony, “as we are in the middle of a war, with COVID-19. To win, all countries must stand in solidarity and work hand in hand.
“The co-operation with Trinidad and Tobago and China is testimony of a longstanding friendship. At the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago donated much need medical supplies. Now China can reciprocate the goodwill with a commitment to fight the virus”. He further stated that the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is at the frontline, and they have demonstrated a courageous spirit with excellence on the job.
