Matters of safety and security were at the top of the agenda when Commissioner of Police (Ag), Mc Donald Jacob, met with delegates from the Chinese Embassy to Trinidad and Tobago and representatives of the Chinese business community.

A release from the Police Service confirms that the meeting occurred on Tuesday 15th March 2022, at the Police Administration Building in Port of Spain.

“CoP (Ag.) Jacob and the Chinese contingent met to discuss matters of safety, security and training,” the TTPS release revealed. 

During the meeting, Commissioner Jacob affirmed that the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) will work towards building a sustainable relationship between the two entities, even as he thanked the Chinese Embassy for their assistance in helping to improve the skills and knowledge of the TTPS.

In addition, First Secretary Liu Wei of the Chinese Embassy expressed his gratitude to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, for the efforts made in safeguarding the Chinese community.

Both parties exchanged tokens of appreciation, upon completion of the meeting.

The Police Service said also in attendance at the meeting were Assistant Commissioners of Police (Ag.) Sharon Gomez-Cooper and Daniel Moore; Political attaché Geng Gai; and members of the Chinese business community Joe Chan, Michael Chen, and Charles Cheng.
