Coast Guard search for missing men

The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard (TTCG) is currently searching for two men who were fishing on rocks when they were swept away by waves in the vicinity of Blanchisseuse Bay, on the North Coast of Trinidad on Thursday, 09 December, 2021. The Coast Guard will continue to coordinate with partner agencies as the operation continues. Details follow in this press release from the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard: 

On Thursday, 09 December, 2021 the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard (TTCG) received a report that two (2) persons were fishing on rocks when they were swept away by waves in the vicinity of Blanchisseuse Bay, on the North Coast of Trinidad. These two (2) persons are still unaccounted for.  

Based on this information, the Coast Guard initiated a Search and Rescue (SAR) operation that involved its own patrol vessel and has commenced the conduct of searches in the area for the missing Persons In Water (PIWs). The Coast Guard will continue to coordinate with partner agencies as the operation continues.  

The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard continues to provide border security and other services in the face of the threat of COVID-19 in order to maintain the safety and security of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago through the conduct of maritime security and safety patrols within our area of operations.
