One man was arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition in Cocorite during an anti-crime exercise yesterday.
The exercise was spearheaded by Snr. Supt. Thompson, coordinated by Supt. Ramjohn and included officers of the Western Division Task Force, the Joint Army Patrol, and St. James Police Station.
According to police reports, officers went to a track off Freedom Street, Waterhole, Cocorite, based on information received where PC Rogers had cause to search a 20-year-old man, of Building 6 Waterhole, Cocorite and discovered and seized one Glock pistol with 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition. The man was arrested and taken to the St. James Police Station. Officers also arrested two suspects, of Waterhole, Cocorite, who were wanted on enquiries relative to shooting offences in the Cocorite area. Enquiries are continuing
