A construction worker has been charged with robbing a Chinese supermarket and he is expectd to appear in the Spiaria Magistrates’ Court to answer related charges.
Police said they are looking for another suspect.
Mosi Alfred, 23, of Sewlal Trace, Pepper Village, Fyzabad, was arrested on Wednesday and charged by PC Jaglal of the Oropouche Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
The charge arose out of a report of robbery with aggravation which occurred at 6.20 pm on Monday at a Chinese supermarket located on the Southern Main Road, Dow Village, South Oropouche.
According to reports, two men entered the business place, one armed
with a gun, and robbed an employee of cash which represented the day’s sales.
The police were contacted and officers attached to the Oropouche Police Station responded.
An investigation, led by PC Jaglal, resulted in the arrest of Alfred who was later charged with robbery with aggravation.
