Consular Corps donates to Immigration Detention Centre

In keeping with the responsibilities of the Consular Corps of T&T to maintain relations between the Government of T&T and their representative countries, the Consular Corps joined in the effort to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus by donating face masks and hand sanitisers to the Immigration Detention Centre (IDC).

Last Thursday, Amer Haidar, Dean of the Consular Corps, made the presentation of 3,000 face masks and 1,000 bottles of hand sanitizer to Kern Penco, Deputy Chief Immigration Officer at the IDC in Aripo.

It is hoped that this small contribution will aid the IDC in keeping its detainees and officers safe from contagion.

The Consular Corps represents 34 sovereign states in T&T and continues to be committed to strengthening synergies between T&T and its member countries.
