Contractor charged with forgery

Thirty-eight-year-old Devon Richardson a contractor, of Panco Lane has been charged with the offence of uttering a forged document to a representative of the State. He is expected to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate today. Richardson was charged following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC.

According to police reports, it is alleged that on October 19th 2021, the accused tried to obtain a parcel of state land using a forged document from the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries, Land Management Division, Commissioner of State Lands dated February 3rd 2020. A report of the incident was made to the Anti-Corruption Investigations Bureau (ACIB), on November 23rd 2021, and an investigation was launched.

Investigations were supervised by Snr. Supt. Deryck Walker and Supt. Avinash Singh and assisted by Insp. Bryon Daniel, W/Insp. Alicia Mc Millian and Sgt. Gerrard Baldwin. Richardson was arrested in connection with the incident on Tuesday 8th March, 2022 at the Marabella Police Station and charged by Sgt. Baldwin, on Wednesday 9th March, 2022.
