Chinese Fried Chicken with Oyster Sauce
1 whole Chicken (avg 3 lbs)
1 Package Maggi Season Up Chicken
1 tbsp Five Spice Powder
2 c Oil for Frying

For Oyster Sauce
2 tbsp Oyster Sauce
2 tbsp Water
1 tsp Sugar
½ Onion Sliced
½ Sweet Pepper Sliced
1 tsp Ginger+Garlic minced
3 pimentos sliced
1 tbsp Sesame Oil
Chives for Garnish

  1. Season chicken with Maggi Season up and Five Spice Powder. Allow to marinate for 1 hour
  2. Heat Oil in Wok or Large Iron Pot. When hot, gently place chicken to fry whole
  3. Allow chicken to fry on each side for 15 mins until golden brown and cooked. Remove chicken and place on paper towel to drain
  4. In separate pot, combine Oyster Sauce, water and sugar. Bring to a boil
  5. Add Onion, sweet pepper, onion, pimento, garlic and ginger. Allow to simmer for five minutes
  6. Stir in Sesame Oil
  7. When chicken is cool cut into bite sized pieces. Drizzle oyster sauce over chicken and garnish with chives
