Investigations are continuing into a road accident involving a police officer and members of the T&T Defence Force (TTDF) in Arima on Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, after 4 pm a marked police motorcycle driven by PC Toney assigned to the Traffic Branch San Juan was on escort duty, proceeding north along Pinto Road followed by Coast Guard Bus driven by AB Kyle Beckles, when upon reaching Passion Fruit Drive the Coast Guard bus came into contact with the rear of the police motorbike.
This resulted in PC Toney being thrown approximately 15 feet in a northerly direction onto the roadway.
The bus then crashed into a wall of a house on the western side of the roadway.
The Coast Guard Ambulance Unit took PC Toney to the Arima Health Facility where he was treated and transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex for further treatment.
AB Beckles, police said, sustained no injuries.
