Cops destroy marijuana trees in Carapo

Officers of the Northern Division on an anti-crime exercise in the Carapo district on Sunday 14th June 2020, discovered and destroyed marijuana trees worth an estimated $40,000.

Officers of the Northern Division on an anti-crime exercise in the Carapo district on Sunday 14th June 2020, discovered and destroyed marijuana trees worth an estimated $40,000.

The officers also found and seized an air-rifle during the exercise, which was conducted between 5:00am and 8:00am, yesterday. It included officers of the Northern Division Task Force (Area East) and the Canine Unit.

According to official police reports, during the exercise, officers proceeded to Pascal Lane, Carapo, where they found one Gamo air rifle, and a quantity of ammunition.

Officers then proceeded to a vacant lot of land at Arima Old Road, in the vicinity of Cumberbatch Lane, where they found and destroyed 40 fully grown marijuana trees.

Investigations are ongoing.
