Police are appealing to the public to assist them in solving the murders of Cindy Joseph and her teenaged boyfriend Kadeem Elijah who were killed by gunmen in Claxton Bay on Thursday morning.
Investigators believe Elijah, 19, may have been the target.
He had recently moved in with Joseph and was facing gun-related charges.
Joseph’s 11-year-old son was caught in the crossfire when the gunmen stormed the house at Hilltop Drive, Springvale, Claxton Bay around 1:30 am.
The child remains in a serious but stable condition at the San Fernando General Hospital.
Doctors performed emergency surgery as the bullets fractured the bones on his right leg as well as ruptured his veins.
Three men were seen running from the scene of the crime.
However, witnesses have been reluctant to provide clear descriptions of the suspects.
Anyone with information on the murders can contact Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS.
Detective Cpl Smith of the Homicide Investigations Bureau (Region III) is in charge of investigations.
