Cops probe fatal shooting of St James man

Police officers found 15 spent shells from the scene where a 24-year-old man was shot on Tuesday night in St James.

The victim, identified as Quasi Morris, of 214 Dundonald Hill, St James, died at hospital.

According to a police report, at about 9:53 pm Morris was liming at the back of his home with other relatives when he was shot multiple times, moments after his relatives, who were with him, stepped inside the house.

Morris attempted to run inside the house but collapsed. He was taken to the St James Medical Complex by first responders of the Western Division Task Force to seek medical attention but was later pronounced dead.

Police officers, who processed the scene, recovered 15 spent shells and two projectiles. PC Francis, of the Homicide Bureau Region 1, is investigating.
